WEEKEND

Peyton Manning

Friday night the Noblesville Millers (our high school team) was the first team to play at the new Lucas Oil Stadium where the Colts will play. It was pretty cool. I think half the town was there---literally. We did get embarrassingly spanked---but it was still fun. Saturday Wyatt had his scrimmage football game and Sunday we spent the day on the boat.
This week is going to be CRAZY busy. Wyatt's open house/parent night at school tonight. Football practice Tues, Wed and Thurs nights. Lily starts her drama class Thursday night (of course at the same time as football). Then we are leaving Friday right after school for the lake for the long weekend. When I will pack-I have no idea. I was SUPPOSED to have a dentist appt in there, too, but that's going to have to give. It will all work out--it always does. Lily is VERY excited about her drama class. I can't wait to see what they do.

FOOTBALL

That's Wyatt in the black shoes and socks on the end with the stripe on his helmet.
Hitting the sled in practice. Wyatt on right.

Wyatt had his first scrimmage game today. He did pretty well. They will get their uniforms and have their first real game the weekend after Labor Day. After some initial, shall I say, "hesitation" in the beginning, I think he is starting to get into it. They practice 3 times a week for 2 hours and the first hour is pure conditioning. He was not too keen on that. It's HARD---as it should be. He is having to really challenge himself physically and mentally. But we know he can do it. He definitely couldn't have better coaches. Positive, encouraging, but tough and VERY instructional also.

This is so nice. Hamilton county, where we live, was voted the number one best place to raise a family by Forbes magazine. We know it's a great place to live and it's nice to see it recognized. Here's the article.

BACK TO SCHOOL---2008

Wyatt at 6:30 am. I was lucky to get the pic I did--he hates pictures!
Ready to go.
Lily with some of her buds.
At her desk.
The kids both had a good start to school. Lily got a teacher that we are really excited about. Her first male teacher. She has several friends in her class so she was happy. Wyatt said his teacher is nice and he also had some friends in his class. I've enjoyed being back, too. It's been great to see teachers and kids that I haven't seen all summer. Looks like I'll be eating lunch with 4th grade this year, so Lily is happy about that. I'll be able to eat with her anytime. Funny, Wyatt wasn't too keen on me eating lunch with him in 4th grade. I'm glad she's not there yet!
Wyatt has decided to play football this year with a different league. I'm expecting him home from a long, hard practice any minute. He decided he wanted to try it again, so we were able to get him on last minute. They're home---gotta go!!!

We went to Lake Monroe in Bloomington last weekend. It was a beautiful lake and an extremely relaxing day.

Yesterday Wyatt went to King's Island with youth group as part of their back to school retreat. Here he is with Trevor at the end of a long day. Tracee and I went as chaperones and we had so much fun. It was a great day.
Lily and Emma.
