My first grape tomatoes from the garden. I'm sure there are tons more out there with all of the rain we've had. Lily and I love them!

FEW MORE WEEKEND PICS

Lily and Wyatt with their papaw.
At the recital with Nema and Papaw. See those awesome shoes my mom has on? I complimented her on them and she gave them to me. Wyatt said---Mom, compliment her on her jewelry. He's so funny.
After the recital at Culver's with Wyatt. We saw several little pirates there. Nothing like fried food at 10pm--ugh. It WAS good, though.
Lily with her dance teacher Miss Michele after the recital.
Cute little pirate.

LET THE RELAXATION BEGIN

Sad boys after the game.
The khaki short dads at the fence--funny. This was their usual spot.
The coach had this made for the boys and hung it in the dugout before their tournament game. Wyatt's pic is on the bottom left.

Lily getting on the bus for Girl Scout camp.
So sweet--Lily and Emma walking to the bus holding hands---they just love each other.
Emma and Lily ready to go.
Well, we have baseball and dance under our belts for a while. So happy! I feel like I can finally relax and enjoy REAL summer where there is nothing much to do. This week has been great. Lily is going to Girl Scout camp all day and Wyatt has a 3 hour camp each day. We have had no other obligations and that's been so nice. I thought I would get so much done around the house but that hasn't really happened. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

VBS

Lily with her friend Tatum.

The kids had a great time at Vacation Bible School last week. They ended up having 361 kids---WOW! They had a performance on Sunday. Look at all of those kids! And that wasn't even everyone who came. My parents got to see Lily sing-Wyatt didn't want to do it, so he watched with us. She was so into it. She's all about anything that has to do with performing. She loves to be on stage! Plus she loves to sing and was singing the songs at home all week. Unfortunately she was way in the back on Sunday so it was hard to get any good pics. This was Wyatt's last year that he is able to participate but the older kids help. He's excited to be able to do that next year.

A FEW MORE RECITAL PICS

Lily is on the left in the front.
This is the opening part where they are all out on stage waving their scarves.
This is the finale with all of them in their pirate costumes.
Lily and a couple of her classmates before going backstage.
Lily in her stage make-up.

I forgot to mention in my last post that Lily's dance studio was having a "bunhead" contest the whole year to see who wore their hair in a bun to class the most. The prize was a cute silver necklace with a ballerina with a bun. She made sure I put her hair in a bun for class every time. Luckily, I found a contraption at Claire's that made it super easy. Out of over 300 students, only 13 got the prize. They announced their names at the recital and they came to the front of the stage. She thought that was pretty cool.

RECITAL-2007

Oh, in this pic Lily was flustered (it was dress rehearsal) because they got confused on where they were supposed to be. Luckily, it didn't happen during the real thing and they did it perfectly. I love the look on her face.

What a weekend! Or, I guess I should say--what a week! Lily had her dance recital last night. My parents came up for it. It was a very nice recital and Lily did a great job. She was so excited all week--to the point of being very hyper! She is so into the dance thing. I'm glad she likes it so much because I really like watching it! These are all pictures that my friend with a much better camera than mine took. The other girl in the pics is her daughter whose name is also Lily. Her brother is on Wyatt's baseball team. Speaking of baseball, we got so lucky. Wyatt was due to play tournament games at the exact same time as the recital. They got rained out so we didn't have to deal with figuring that all out! He plays them tonight instead, which is much better!
The ballet portion of the recital was called "Watercolors" and was an ocean theme. They started out with the song "Come Sail Away" where they all ran across the stage with scarves. Lily's dance was to a song called "Island of Dreams". The tap part was called "Shiver Me Timbers!" and was a pirate theme. Lily's dance was to "My Bonny"(Lies Over the Ocean)--it was a version that started slow but then got kind of rock and roll-it was really cute. The finale was really cute, too. I have some pics of those that I haven't loaded yet. I'll post more later.
Oh, we ate at a great restaurant Friday night. It's called St. Elmo's Steakhouse. It was SOOO good. The we walked around downtown Indy for a bit. I need to get my "country" kids to a city more. They were SO shocked and scared actually of all the beggars. I guess I don't think too much about it because I've lived in larger cities and dealt with it. I didn't even realize that they have never even seen someone shaking a can and asking for money. We gave a lady our leftover chicken. She seemed grateful. We even had one guy give us the sob story of needing $8 for cab fare. Anyway, we had a great weekend and I'm glad it's over. The next 2 weeks before we leave for the beach will be relaxing and I'm looking forward to them!

Just a couple of pics from last week. Lily posing after tennis camp and Wyatt in the dugout.
We are entrenched in baseball and recital this week. It's a busy week and even though I love recital, I'll be glad when it's over.
The kids have loved VBS so far. We've had lunch out with friends everyday this week and they love that, too.
Wyatt made his first $20 at his "job" watering the neighbor's yard. He was so excited!

LAKE FUN

This is the dock from the boat. You can see their house up the hill. It's a gorgeous setting.

Wyatt's favorite thing was tubing. He was on forever!
Lily liked tubing but her favorite was the jet ski-she did not want to get off of it! She and I rode it for a long time. We were getting a lot braver after a while and she was yelling at me to go faster and jump waves. She is such a daredevil!

Wyatt driving the boat.

Lily jumping in.

Lily on the jet ski with her "dadaddy"---Jeff's dad.
Wyatt had a few balance issues with the jet ski.

We had a super weekend in Lexington. Went out with my parents and brother Friday night. Spent Saturday at the lake with Jeff's dad and step mom. We love it there. The kids have a great time playing and swimming and it's so relaxing. We'll go back later this summer to spend a whole weekend there. We love to take the boat to the different marinas to eat. We actually looked at a marina that is for sale. Jeff would love to buy one and run it. We weren't too impressed with this one and would only do it if the perfect one came along. Sunday we went to church with my fam and out to lunch. All the dad's had good father's days. We then took Jeff's mom out to lunch(yes, that's right---2 lunches yesterday-have to be good this week!). Her b-day is Tuesday so we took her out for that. It was just a nice, though busy, weekend.

The kids are at VBS right now. They were excited to go. There were about 300 kids there. They each took a friend, but knew tons of kids there, too. Our church has a really good VBS. It gives me a few hours each day to myself, too, which is nice!

I love how Jeff (far right) has a polo pony on his shirt.
Lily's sidewalk chalk art. Kind of hard to see, but it says I (heart) my family! by Lily, with a pic of all of us. How sweet.
Lily has had tennis camp all this week. It's one of the free ones through the schools. She really loves it.
Wyatt took his racket, too and practiced on an open court.
Before tennis camp we went to the free weekly movie offered by our local theater. It was Barnyard. The kids hadn't seen it and it was really cute. We met some friends there and went to lunch afterwards. We pretty much took over the restaurant with 7 kids! They had a great time!
